Franklin Toyota Employee Honored with National Recognition

We’re thrilled to share that our longtime Shop Foreman and Master Technician, Jeff Williams, is set to be honored with a national accolade this November. Jeff recently completed Toyota’s rigorous certification process, which includes eight exams plus an advanced test, covering every aspect of a technician’s expertise. Not only did he pass, but he earned the highest score in the entire nation—beating every other certification candidate from Toyota dealerships across the U.S. in the past year. With more than 1,500 Toyota and Lexus dealerships nationwide, we couldn’t be prouder to have Jeff representing Franklin Toyota at this level!
How Was He Notified?
We’re beyond proud to announce that Jeff Williams has been named the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Automobile Technician of the Year for Toyota. The recognition came as a complete surprise to him—he didn’t even know the award existed—when a Southeast Toyota representative stopped by recently. Jeff recalled that a regional manager had come by to check on an apprentice and then called him into the office to join a Zoom meeting, where he learned the exciting news. The award will be officially presented this November at the ASE Board of Governors Meeting and Service Professionals Awards Ceremony at the Desoto Hotel in Savannah, Georgia, and we couldn’t be more excited to see him honored on a national stage.
About Jeff Williams
Here at Franklin Toyota, we’re proud to have Jeff Williams as part of our team. Originally from Illinois, Jeff has called southeast Georgia home since 1981 and has been with us for the past fifteen years, though his career in mechanics spans an impressive 47 years. On a daily basis, he handles advanced diagnostics and oversees our apprentice program—he’s already guided two apprentices through to completion and currently mentors two more in the year-long program. Jeff credits much of his success to his parents, Sam and Maxine, who encouraged him at just eighteen to pursue a career in mechanics and attend Nashville Auto-Diesel College. He also says his wife, Lynn, has been a constant source of support throughout his career. As for working at Franklin Toyota, Jeff sums it up simply: the saying is true—if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. We couldn’t agree more.
