Pre-Collision System (PCS)

Using an internal camera, the driver's car can detect the vehicle in front of them.  If the PCS suspects a possible collision, both visual and audio alerts will warn the driver. If the driver does not react, the brakes will be applied automatically using Brake Assist to avoid a collision.

Lane Departure Alert (LDA)

Through visual and audio alerts, the LDA will warn the driver if the vehicle is unintentionally starting to deviate from its lane. With the Steering Assist Function, small corrective inputs on the steering wheel will keep the vehicle in its lane.

Automatic High Beams (AHB)

When enabled, AHB uses an internal camera to help detect the headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of preceding vehicles, then automatically switches between high and low beams as appropriate to provide the most light possible and enhance forward visibility.

When the Pre-­Collision System 10 determines that the possibility of a frontal collision with that vehicle is high, it prompts the driver to take evasive action and brake, by using an audio and visual alert.

If the system 6 determines that the vehicle is starting to unintentionally deviate from its lane, the system alerts the driver with an audio and visual alert.

When equipped and enabled, if the system 11 determines that the vehicle is on a path to unintentionally depart from its lane, the system may provide small corrective steering inputs to the steering wheel for a short period of time to help the driver keep the vehicle in its lane.

Once a vehicle speed is set by the driver, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control 12 uses a front-­grille-­mounted, millimeter-­wave radar and an in-­vehicle camera to detect a preceding vehicle and help determine its distance.

Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)- Available on 2016/2017 Prius
at approximately 0 to 110 mph, Full-Speed Range DRCC 12 may enable low-speed following, speed matching, stopping and acceleration/deceleration to a preceding vehicle.

10) The TSS Pre-Collision System is designed to help avoid or reduce the crash speed and damage in certain frontal collision only. It is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving.
